About the role We’re looking for a backend test automation engineer to help test systems that include AI-powered features. The work is focused on backend services, APIs, data flows, and integrations with third-party AI services. Part of this role is building automated AI evaluations into our pipelines so we can continuously validate AI behavior as models, prompts, and data change over time. What you’ll do Write and maintain automated tests for backend services and APIs Test AI-assisted features and services, including validating outputs and behavior Add AI evals into CI/CD pipelines to track AI quality over time Test async and event-driven workflows Validate data pipelines that mix structured data with text or documents Cover non-functional requirements like performance, scalability, and reliability Work closely with backend engineers and product to agree on what “good” looks like Contribute to CI checks, quality gates, and test reporting What we’re looking for Solid backend test automation experience (3+ years) Strong experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript Hands-on experience with test frameworks (pytest, unittest, or similar) Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, Requests/HTTPX, or similar Comfortable working with Docker Working knowledge of SQL for data validation Experience testing backend systems that include AI / ML / LLM components Experience with LLM evaluation tools (DeepEval, Ragas, LangSmith, or similar) Experience testing non-functional aspects such as performance and scalability Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) Nice to have Experience building or maintaining AI evals Experience dealing with non-deterministic systems (flaky results, hallucinations) Contract testing experience (Pact or similar) Some exposure to prompt engineering or RAG-based systems Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, Kibana, Grafana, etc.) Basic security testing knowledge (OWASP, API security) Experience generating or working with synthetic test data Fluent English We offer Competitive salary to be defined upon the interview results Full time REMOTE WORK

In this role, you will play a central part in ensuring improvements and features are delivered on time, on budget, and meet all business requirements. This is a strategic technical leadership role that demands a broad enterprise software architecture perspective and expert-level Agile team management. A solid prior background in software development is a must. Work format: Remote (within compatible time zones) or from our comfortable office in the historic city center of St. Petersburg. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Delivery: Apply advanced project management techniques to balance scope, quality, time, and cost. Oversee the entire SDLC to ensure alignment with product criteria. Proactively identify risks, mitigate bottlenecks, and report progress directly to the Leadership Team. Team Leadership & Scale: Lead, mentor, and coach multiple distributed, cross-functional engineering teams across different time zones and cultures. Roadmap & Priority Management: Collaborate closely with Product Management to decompose product requirements into prioritized deliverables. Seamlessly manage shifting priorities caused by critical customer requests, using data to guide stakeholder decisions. Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders. Establish goals, validate acceptance criteria, challenge assumptions, and hold stakeholders accountable. Requirements: Experience: 3+ years of project management experience leading software engineering teams. Technical Background: Solid prior hands-on experience in software development (Software Engineer/Developer background is mandatory). Methodologies: Strong understanding of Project Management frameworks, Agile best practices, and DevOps principles in enterprise SaaS product environments. People Management: Proven track record of managing distributed virtual teams, coaching team leads, and delivering constructive feedback. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent English is required for daily international cooperation. Technical Oversight & Stack Awareness: (You will govern these through named specialists rather than deep hands-on coding, but architecture-level understanding is required) Live Stack: Java services, middleware, messaging, Node.js services. Legacy Stack: Good understanding of .NET / C++ / WinForms / on-prem stack to drive modernization and safe migration strategies forward. Data & Cache: Redis (caching, queues), MongoDB, and document data stores. Cloud & Infra: Cloud-native architecture, SaaS multi-tenancy, Kubernetes, and containers at scale. Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Operations & Security: Observability and strict SLAs (99.9%+, on-call processes, post-mortems). Investigate and manage cybersecurity incidents, including containment, remediation, and reporting. Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify suspicious activities bypassing existing controls. Create and maintain detection rules, correlation logic, and incident response playbooks. Collaborate with global teams in English to ensure effective security operations. Requirements At least one year of hands-on experience as a SOC Analyst. Proven experience working with SIEM platforms, including alert monitoring, investigation, correlation, and analysis. Proven experience working with EDR platforms, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Familiarity with security operations and investigations in Microsoft Azure cloud environments. High-level English proficiency and experience collaborating with global teams. Experience investigating and managing cybersecurity incidents, including containment, remediation coordination, and incident report writing. Experience creating and maintaining detection rules, correlation rules, and incident response playbooks.
