About the Company Specific-Group is an international software development company that provides high-class custom software solutions for corporate clients in Europe and the USA. Our offices are located in Austria, Germany, USA, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Belarus, Vietnam, etc. We're focused on clients from the financial sector, however, are strongly engaged with other domains: insurance, healthcare, automotive, public media, AI, etc. Currently, we are planning to open a Manual QA Engineer to join our team in Minsk, Belarus. Project: You'll become part of our SPG delivery team working for a leading food logistics company (Germany). The client runs a warehouse management system built on AS400, which is currently being modernized module by module. There's no fixed QA process yet: you'll have real ownership in shaping how quality assurance works here from the ground up. Team setup: You'll join a 6-person team — three AS400 developers, a business analyst, a project lead, and a part-time frontend developer — as the team's first dedicated Manual QA specialist. The first months: – Months 1–6: get the internal AI testing framework running and producing real value on the web-interface test cases (~20% of the load), with backup from the QA Lead. – Beyond that: with a ~3-year runway and no fixed QA playbook, you shape what comes next — repeatable regression coverage across the modernized modules, and how QA operates on the team. Those milestones are yours to define. Required skills: Solid testing background — test case design, exploratory and regression testing, defect documentation and triage; Comfortable working with legacy environments; understanding of RPG/CL/Cobol/DB2 system logic is a plus (no coding required); Ability to independently set up and operate a new testing tool, with backup support available rather than step-by-step instructions; Steady, patient approach — around 80% of the work involves AS400 green-screen (terminal-based) testing, and this is the core of the role, not a temporary phase; Upper-intermediate level of English is a must (spoken, written); Analytical, structured and solution-oriented work approach. Your profile: Strong testing core — case design, exploratory, regression, defect triage — with real screen-testing depth. Comfortable in legacy environments; understanding RPG/CL/Cobol/DB2 system logic is a plus (no coding required). Can stand up and operate an AI testing tool on your own. Steady temperament: ~80% AS400 screens is the job, not a phase. Responsibilities: Testing the AS400 system for regressions and functional correctness — manual and automated approaches — as the legacy system is modernized piece by piece; Independently setting up and running the internal AI testing framework for web-interface test cases (~20% of workload), with backup from the QA Lead; Proactively defining what gets tested — no pre-built checklist is handed down; Reverse-engineering undocumented legacy logic (with the help of internal AI tooling) — an ongoing, core part of the role; Logging findings in Jira; routing client-specific questions through the BA/PM. Extensive benefit package: Professional growth (professional trainings, knowledge sharing, meet-ups, etc.); Transparent and clear management; Friendly colleagues and atmosphere; Medical insurance; Fully covered sick leave for the first 14 calendar days; compensation of external professional courses and trainings; English courses; additional holidays; financial bonuses; corporate gifts on dedicated events; fruity days, etc; Company parties and team buildings; Comfortable, well-equipped office (with kitchen, meeting rooms, and event space); Flexible start of the working day (9:00–11:00 AM).
Who we are? Specific-Group: owner-managed, 25 years on the market , ~550 engineering specialists across 10+ countries. ~80% senior experts ; people stay with us roughly twice as long as the industry average. You grow deep on one project — not surface across ten. Currently, we are planning to open a Senior Java Developer position to our product team. What does Ozgar do? Ozgar is an AI "Smart Knowledge Hub": it parses complex, poorly documented systems and turns code, databases and architecture (IBM, Cobol and Java) into structured, visual documentation and dependency graphs. Live since summer 2025, patent-backed, already sold to double-digit enterprise customers internationally. The hard part is the engineering: serving reliable, source-linked answers over decades of legacy code through a hybrid retrieval stack (vector + Apache AGE + Elasticsearch), without hallucination. Team setup Senior-heavy team — two Scrum teams, 90%+ seniors, with a product lead who has built systems at Amazon, Snowflake and IBM. What you will do You develop and operate Ozgar across the full cycle: analysis, design, code, testing, production; You work on the hybrid-retrieval layer (vector embeddings, Apache AGE, Elasticsearch) and the LLM integration (Claude, OpenAI; on-prem models optional); You build adapters that ingest RPG/COBOL, Java/.NET into knowledge hub; You build agents for data ingestion and assistant; You build MCP / API connectivity to other agents; You evaluate new models and methods and bring the ones that hold up into the product; Over time you move from feature work into architecture ownership in your area. Your profile You have built and shipped backend systems in Java for several years and grown into senior or tech-lead scope. You have owned features end-to-end and already worked hands-on with LLM APIs in something real. Must-have: Java 21 with Spring Boot, REST, Hibernate; Solid CS fundamentals: OOP, data structures, concurrency; PostgreSQL; Hands-on with Claude or OpenAI APIs (integration, prompt engineering) and a working understanding of how LLMs behave — the AI layer is central, not a side feature; Nice to have: Neo4J, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Kubernetes; LangChain4J / Spring AI, open-source models (Qwen, gpt-oss); Language: English at upper-intermediate or better — the team works in English day to day. Hiring process Recruiter call Technical interview with the Tech Lead, ~60min Meet the Product Lead, ~30 min Offer End-to-end realistically ~2–3 weeks. Bonuses: Office/remote work options; Professional growth (training programs, knowledge-sharing meetups, etc.); Annual assessment and salary review; Transparent and clear management; Friendly colleagues and a positive atmosphere; Extensive benefits package: Medical insurance; Fully covered sick leave for 14 calendar days per year; Compensation for external professional courses and training; English courses; Additional holidays; Financial bonuses; Corporate gifts on special occasions; Free parking spots; Fruity days and more; Company parties and team buildings; Comfortable, well-equipped office in the city center (with kitchen, meeting rooms, and event space).
